Host a Drive

It’s Always a Good Time of Year to Host a Drive

Hosting a drive is a simple, yet impactful way to support Kansas City Hospice. You’ll also have fun at work or with your group – and can even create some friendly competition if you’d like. Be sure to allow ample time for people to collect their items and be sure to publicize the drive widely for maximum participation.

You may even want to leave one drop-off box at a location for a week or so following your drive so people who are on vacation or simply out of town can still donate.

Wondering what items to collect?

  • Check out our Wish List to help with some immediate needs at Kansas City Hospice House™ and Northcare Hospice House.

  • Team Pajamas items: herbal tea; earplugs; eye cover masks for sleeping; small chocolates and mints; bottled water; playing cards; small puzzles; and puzzle books such as crossword puzzles. NOTE: Team Pajamas is a new volunteer program for teens and young adults. Click to read more.

  • Volunteer Visit Bags items: Volunteers take these bags when visiting patients particularly Alzheimer’s and dementia patients: books with pictures of the seasons; small bottles of lotion; nail polish; fidget blankets; easy puzzles; fidget boxes; fidget boards; sensory items.
