At Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care (KCH), we go above and beyond medical care for our patients and families. We help with all kinds of needs which affect their quality of life, and we continue to follow our families through the first thirteen months of their grief process.

During the holidays, two amazing programs provide joy and support to those who are in hospice care and grief support. You can help!
- In our Holiday Adoption Program, caring community volunteers provide clothing, personal items, toys, food and gifts to patients and families. We provide a wish list for an individual patient, couple or family of a specified size, and volunteers shop for, wrap, and drop off gifts with us. Our hospice volunteers and team members then deliver the gifts to patients and families. Signup for shoppers happens in October and November. Then we aim to get wish lists out by Thanksgiving. To learn more or sign up to adopt an individual or family, contact Lane Foster at lfoster@KCHospice.org or 816.941.1058.
- Our patients in nursing facilities may not need as much, but we love to make them smile by giving them a small tote bag or stocking filled with treats and helpful items. If you would like to help, please drop off stocking fillers at either NorthCare Hospice House or Kansas City Hospice Houseâ„¢ by Thanksgiving so volunteers can put together and distribute the totes and stockings in December. Donations may be dropped off any time now through November 27.
- Ideal stocking/tote bag fillers might include:Â no-skid slipper socks, small scarf or stocking cap, lip balm, travel-size toiletries, handkerchief, small stuffed animal, small puzzle books, pocket pack of Kleenex, hard candies or small snacks, deck of playing cards, small magnifier, magazine or classic book, and notecards/pen/stamps.
