KCH Wins Award for Quality at Axxess AGILE Conference

Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care (KCH) is honored to have won another award recognizing the outstanding care our team members and volunteers provide patients and families in the greater Kansas City region. The national award was presented during the Axxess Growth Innovation & Leadership Experience conference. 

Winners were announced during the AGILE Distinction Award Ceremony on May 6, 2025. The award was accepted by Ericka Hale, RN, Clinical Software Specialist at KCH. 

The Compliance and Quality Standards of Excellence Award honors organizations that have processes in place to maintain high quality and compliance standards. Criteria for the award includes:

• Organizations that demonstrate a steadfast dedication to delivering outstanding patient outcomes, as reflected in: 
  • Quality Star Ratings: Exceptional performance in Home Health Compare Star Ratings.
  • Patient Satisfaction Scores: Consistently high marks from patients and families.
  • Compliance Metrics: Strong internal KPIs and survey results showcasing adherence to regulatory standards will be recognized for their commitment to quality and compliance. Significant improvements in 2024 will also be acknowledged.

Qualifications for the award include organizations who:

• Are Axxess clients during 2024 for Home Health, Hospice, Home Care, or Palliative Care
• Demonstrates best practices and operational excellence using Axxess Solutions

To be considered for the award, organizations must meet the following quality and patient satisfaction requirements: 

• Exceptional CAHPS Ratings: Achieve a rating of 3.5 or higher on the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey, as reported on Home Health Compare or through the Vendor Portal, for the 2024 reporting period. 
• High Quality Care: Maintain a quality rating of 3.5 or higher on Home Health Compare for 2024, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. 
• Excellent Survey Performance: Demonstrate a high level of compliance with three or fewer findings on surveys, showcasing a dedication to exceptional care and service.
• Significant Improvement in Star Ratings: Achieve an improvement of one star or more in patient satisfaction or quality star ratings from 2023 to 2024, indicating a notable enhancement in care quality and patient experience.
