In a month consumed by consumerism, we want to introduce you (or re-introduce you) to a couple of shopping alternatives near and dear to the patients and families served by Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care (KCH): Heart & Soul and Story Boutique.
Proceeds from these two stores support the mission of KCH. That means: each time you donate an heirloom piece from your great aunt’s attic. Each time you bring in a favorite piece of jewelry, a vintage men’s overcoat, a sensational “worn once” designer gown — to be resold: these donations all support the mission of Kansas City Hospice…helping Kansas City families just like yours.
Similarly, each time you make a purchase — and there’s always something to buy — you support our mission of providing end-of-life care for Kansas City folks – just like you.
Each time you choose to volunteer your time — because WE KNOW there are a lot of amazing places that are important to you and deserve your time — you support KCH and your friends and neighbors right here in KC.
And we appreciate you. So much.
So when you’re ready to shop, donate or volunteer, here are your two opportunities to support KCH.
The dedication of our volunteers at Heart & Soul truly make a difference in supporting the mission of Kansas City Hospice.
Shop with Your Heart (& Your Soul)
For many years, Heart & Soul, A Story Bazaar, has operated 100% with the support of dedicated KCH volunteers. The shop features the very best in seasonal decor, unique and quality vintage, antique and estate items.
Heart & Soul is located in Leawood, Kansas at 12904 State Line Road. You’ll find the shop open 12 – 8 pm Tuesdays; 12 – 4 pm Thursdays; and 10 am – 3 pm Saturdays. Donations of home decor and estate items are always welcome.

New Location: Same Great Vibe at Story Boutique
In early December 2025, Story Boutique (StoryB) opened a big, bright store just steps away from its previous home.
Our upscale resale boutique is now located at 95th Street and Mission Road, just down the sidewalk from Dewey’s Pizza in Ranch Mart Shopping Center. That’s 3665 W 95th Street, Overland Park, Kansas for your GPS.
StoryB is filled with designer brands and styles you love, at an affordable price. You’ll find many of your favorite clothing brands such as Chico’s, Michael Kors,
Tory Burch, Vera Bradley, Coach and many more. We also offer many new and used accessories such as purses, scarves and jewelry and an entire department of men’s fashions.
StoryB gift cards are also available so your favorite someone can do their own shopping.
Shopping hours for Story Boutique include:
- Monday: 11 am – 4 pm
- Tuesday – Friday: 10 am – 6 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Sunday: Closed
Donations of new and gently used women and men’s clothing, and accessories that are clean, in style and in top condition are happily accepted at Story Boutique. We accept donations 10:30 am – 3 pm, Tuesday – Friday. For larger donations, please call 913.642.2292 to make an appointment to ensure we have team members and volunteers available to process your donation. When you donate your items, you’re giving a second life to cherished pieces, while showing support for Kansas City Hospice. All proceeds directly benefit families receiving assistance through KCH’s hospice care, palliative care or grief support programs.
