Veteran Hospice Care | Honor Veterans This July 4

As we celebrate our nation's 250th year of freedom, help honor Veterans receiving hospice care.

Veteran with his grandsonAs Americans prepare to celebrate our 250th Independence Day, we're reminded that freedom is built on service, sacrifice, and a commitment to something greater than ourselves. At Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, we provide compassionate Veteran hospice care for those whose lives helped shape the freedoms we enjoy today.

Through our Serve & Honor program, we ensure these men and women receive recognition, respect, and gratitude. In addition, we help create meaningful moments for patients and families alike.

Honoring Veterans through Serve & Honor

In fact, last year Kansas City Hospice cared for more than 370 Veterans and their families. They received compassionate end-of-life care, dignity, and recognition for their service to our nation.

One person who helps make this possible is valued KCH volunteer, Don Paisley, a Veteran himself. Don spends his time visiting fellow Veterans receiving hospice care. Through weekly visits, Veteran recognition ceremonies, and conversations rooted in shared experience, Don helps ensure no Veteran feels forgotten.

As a result, these moments become cherished memories and can bring profound comfort. A recognition ceremony, a medal presented by a fellow Veteran, or the companionship of someone who understands military service can become a cherished memory.

How your gift makes a difference

This July 4, as part of the national Giving 4th movement, we invite you to honor Veterans in our care with a gift that helps continue this meaningful work. Your gift helps ensure Veteran hospice care remains available to those who served our nation.

  • A gift of $250 can provide a Veteran Recognition Care Package. These packages include a framed certificate, commemorative medal, challenge coin, Veteran card, service patch, pin, and other keepsakes honoring a Veteran's service and sacrifice.
  • A gift of $125 can help offset day-to-day needs for families experiencing financial hardship while caring for a loved one receiving hospice services.
  • A gift of $50 can help offset the cost of onboarding and training a Veteran volunteer.

Most importantly, as our nation celebrates 250 years of independence, please join us in honoring those who helped preserve it.Â
